Major Achievement of BESDA in Bauchi State.
Overall, while challenges remain, BESDA has made significant strides in addressing the educational needs of marginalized and vulnerable populations in Nigeria. - A total of 282,000 out-of-school children were enrolled, less than a target of 1,031,524, thereby reducing the number from the baseline of 342,322 as a result of the program’s interventions
- A total of 9,293 teachers were recruited in formal and non-formal education to deliver literacy programs at various centers in the State, accomplishing the target with a 100% achievement rate

Literacy Program in schools
A total of 1060 schools slightly less than the set target of 800 schools benefited in Primary 1-3 intensive literacy program in the state, representing 99% achievement

Training of Enumerators
This training is the first step toward realization of mapping exercise, which aims to improve literacy rates and promote access to marketable trades for out-of-school children and other learners in Bauchi state. The data collected by the trained enumerators will contribute to informed decision-making and the implementation of effective educational interventions including identification of communities with available resource and demand for center establishment and marketable trades.

Mapping of communities that have large number of these learners that graduated but could not continue with their education in formal school due to absence of the formal school within their community or due to distance of the schools from their houses.

Centre establishment/ enrollment of students
As part of the BESDA program, the center establishment exercise is implemented to support the post-literacy program, which aims to enhance literacy rates and provide marketable skills to out-of-school children and other learners in Bauchi state.
